West Clacton and Jaywick in particular have recently become the focus of media attention as a result of it's widely publicised levels of deprivation. This is a cause for concern amongst our young people, who often see this as a judgement of the residents, rather than their environment. We have given some samples below of recent reports. We have given our young people a chance to respond with their own views of the community.
