BIke Kitchen's & Cycling March 2020
Our Bike Kitchens continue to be a lifeline for our children & YP. Our Trishaw project has proved a huge success and many elderly residents from Corner Lodge have enjoyed trips out to the pier with our young volunteers. New this year, 7 of our children took part in our first Bikeability course.
Thank you Con and James for your dedication.
Girls Day February 2020
Some of our young ladies spent a lovely afternoon at the Base - nails (two ways!!), fruit and pancakes a week early, a bit of music and most importantly great company! A special thank you to Demah (our beautician for the day) and Tendring Hygiene Scheme for very kindly donating a goody for each of the girls
Community Giving Christmas Tree Project December 2019
Local Police organised a gift tree. The Clacton community generously donated to ensure local children were nominated to receive quality Christmas gifts. IV staff helped to wrap them all and Ruby and Con delivered them to many happy children and young people.
Puzzle room November 2019
This experience was not only creative, but funny, witty, and it really brought our YP together. The thrill of the race against the other team was intense. We were running around the top of Colchester Castle, searching high and low all while laughing together, building and strengthing friendships, as well as the exercising our minds to escape the serpents curse. So much fun from beginning to end
Outdoor cinema September 2019
We celebrated the end of our fun packed summer holidays with an outdoor cinema event in partnership with Jaywick Martello Tower and Moving Image. It was a gorgeous night 80 children and their families came wrapped up in duvets and blankets to watch ‘Fighting with my Family’.
Wheeley Woods July 2019
We had a great fun learning outdoor skills at the woods firelighting, learning rope knots and coordination skills on the obstacle course.
Dementia Awareness Day January 2019
Anthony our Chef once again collaborated with the local fire station to reach out to couples coping with dementia. Seniors that had not been permitted to prepare meals for their partners since the onslaught of their disease cooked in the safety of the fire station with our Chef and sat and ate together.
Christmas, December 2018
A selection of pics from Xmas celebrations:
So proud of local lad Billy who organised a beautiful festive Santa grotto from his Nan's home in Brooklands. All proceeds went to hospital that has supported his little brother Sonny.
We had a traditional Xmas meal this year bringing two generations together, our children and seniors from our Jaywick community Cafe
Alzheimer's Cooking Event September 2018
So today our chef Ant and one of our young people Hayden joined forces with the fire station , ACE and the Alzheimer's society to let 12 individuals with Alzheimer's cook a meal for their partners! Here are the lovely pictures of the day! There was happiness, smiles and laughter all round. This is an organisation that helps so many people every year!
